To accommodate ProBoards eclectic forum owners, we offer a few additional premium options which include the ability to use your own custom domain name, change your forum's URL or, remove all advertising from your forum completely.
Custom Domain name
Want to access your ProBoards forum with your own custom domain name? Instead of using your-domain-name.proboards.com as your forum URL, you could use your-domain.com. For just $14 per year, we can link any custom domain name directly to your ProBoards forum. Please note, your domain name registrar does charge a separate yearly fee to own the domain name.
Change Forum URL
ProBoards also offers you the ability to change your forum URL. Maybe the topic of your forum has change or perhaps you've decided on a completely new name for your discussion community. Whatever the reason, you now have the option to change your forum URL from old-forum-name.proboards.com to new-forum-name.proboards.com while keeping all of your content and members unchanged. Start by using the form below. Please note there is a one time fee of $10.00 for this service.
How will my members know my forum's new URL?
For two weeks after your URL change ProBoards will automatically redirect visitors from your old forum URL to the new one. You are responsible for notifying your members of the new forum URL. Also, be sure to update existing links you have on other websites and make an announcement on your forum informing your members they need to update their bookmarks as well.
Do I keep all of my members, posts, and other information?
Yes, all forum content and member information stays the same. Only the forum URL will change.
What happens to my old URL after changing it?
In our sole discretion, ProBoards may make the old forum URL available for others to register.
Is there a fee for this service?
Yes, a one time fee of $10.00 is charged for this service.
Can I change my forum URL more than once?
Yes, but keep in mind there is a $10.00 fee each time you change the URL.
I've changed my mind - I want my old URL back!
We have a 7 day refund policy. If you're not satisfied, you can notify us on our Support Forum that you'd like to change your URL back. All purchases are final after the 7 day grace period.
Ad Free
Our ad-free program is a paid service for forums owners that wish to remove advertisements from their discussion boards. For $7 per month, we'll provide 50,000 page views on your forum, free of all advertisements.
How does it work?
Our ad-free service operates on a "credits" system. For each dollar paid we add one (1) credit to the forum. Also, any member of your forum can purchase credits which means others can help share the cost of of an ad-free forum.
How much does ad-free cost per month?
The cost is $7.00 per month (7 credits) which provides up to 50,000 ad-free pageviews.
What if I get more than 50,000 pageviews a month?
If your message board generates more than 50,000 pageviews a month, you can purchase additional credits to increase ad-free pageviews.
Does my ad-free roll-over to the next month?
No. This is not a roll-over service. Unused ad-free pageviews do not roll-over to the next month. For example, if you purchase ad-free service on December 15th, your credits will expire and your forum will stop being ad-free at the close of December 31st.
Where do I apply the credits I purchased?
Click on the "admin" icon at the top of your browser. Under the "Paid Services" option click on "Ad-Free" and follow the on-screen instructions.
I'm ready to go ad-free! Where do I go now?
To purchase credits, visit your forum and click on the "Click Here To Make This Board Ad-Free" text that is displayed at the bottom of each page. If you already have purchased credits, visit your forum's Administration Panel, click "Ad-Free" and follow the on-screen instructions to apply your credits.
